BEING BUSY

I have been busy with some projects, and thought I would share. The first is a necklace I made recently with a set of gorgeous ceramic pieces by Birgitta Lejonklou....looooove them! I combined them with vintage MOP beads, and vintage rhinestone rondelles and a large focal bead.
The doll is a project from a Paper Whimsy class called Lover-Lee dolls, This was so much fun, and again I learned some new techniques and got to use some vintage stash here too!
I want to wish you all a wonderful week , and thanks for your visit!

MOONBEAM

I have been busy making jewelry but just getting around to posting some of it. As usual I have 20 projects going at once, but this time there aren't any deadlines, so it feels pretty good. I just added these pieces to the shop, and there will be more by the weekend, barring any headaches.
Thanks for visiting and I always appreciate your comments!

FREE

This is the first journal spread I have made in months, thanks to the inspiration from some beautiful blog artist friends. I tend to get a bit chaotic with scribbles and such...but I have come to accept that is a part of me...I always enjoy the actual physical process of scratching , scribbling, and making marks!
There was a glare on the top right...the words say...how to be beautiful....
In this spread I used some of my own artwork, the lady on the left and the column on the right page .  These I made a while ago, collaged and painted,, and then I resined them, and tore them apart.  I like them like that for some reason.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope you are all having a great weekend!

RED SKY

The weather is getting warmer, and I am becoming happier with it! I guess the thought of warm evening sunsets, and bright colorful clothing, outdoor barbeques, and party lights is coming out in my jewelry, but I think that is a good thing!

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend!

FINDING MY WAY

Finding my Way is the name of the article in the current issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry, which features my jewelry pouches. I thought I would give you some close ups of the bags, since not all my friends get this magazine, especially overseas. I can't even tell you how much I enjoy making these, and I plan on doing more, as soon as I catch up on everything else! My favorite part of making these is the total freedom I can have with the stiching, very similar to painting, I think it is the actual physical motion involved that makes me feel good. The other favorite part I have is in the last photo, the yellowish looking sideways running text. That is a transfer that I made off of a Polish newspaper that I found in a frame behind my grandmother's communion certificate, a beautiful piece in itself. In order to get the text to read the right way I had to take it to Kinko's and get a reverse copy, so when I did the transfer it would come out correctly, not that I think a lot of people would actually notice, but I would, and I have used this newspaper copy in some of my other art.

I will have new jewelry soon in the shop. In the meantime, thanks for visiting and I always love your comments!

CHILDHOOD

Denise Phillips of Birdnuts Mixed Media blog is hosting an atc swap this month with the theme of childhood. I have made 2 atc's so far, and am planning on a third, because you can enter 3 times, for three chances to win a gift certificate to Melissa Samuels shop! I really NEEDED to do some art, and it is feeling great!

Thanks to Denise for all her hard work and for hosting this fab event. Go to Denise's blog to learn all the details and join in the fun!

NUNN

I thought I would share the first two pieces I made for the Nunn Design team back in February. I was a bit timid to incorporate a lot of my quirkiness since these were the first pieces, but as the year goes on I promise you will see more of my signature style.

Nunn has a fabulous selection of components that I was thrilled to work with, for one, the rhinestone chain....ahhh gorgeous stuff! Nunn is also carrying the Crystal Clay, a very easy epoxy that you can color, or purchase in a color, and then set chatons, beads, metal, and just about anything your imagination can think of. It is really fantastic stuff.

I am looking forward to the month by month challenge of pushing my creative limits with the Nunn Design Co, and I look forward to sharing more creations with you!

Thanks for taking the time to visit, I always appreciate that.

IMAGINATION

This is a piece I made recently for a swap, requiring a hand drawn face. At first I was not going to do this swap, because I am not that good at it, but of all the things I want to improve on, drawing faces would rank high on the list. So, I did it. It's not the best, it's not the worst. Yes, I can draw. But I really want to understand what I am doing with each mark. I want something in between reality and fantasy. I purposefully elongated her face, trying to convey an atmosphere, but don't know what that quite is! I like some aspects of it, and I enjoyed working with the color. I still want to learn more about the anatomy of the face, and how to make it more my own. I envision a style, but it hasn't come out yet. From what I know, practice helps a lot with this, and I haven't devoted a lot of time to it, but again, it's on the list!

GLUE AND PAPER

I have been in maniac mode trying to finish a number of jewelry projects with looming deadlines. Then the holiday was mixed in also, and I am slowly coming up to breathe. In the meantime, I put this quick page together, just paper and glue, because I love playing with gorgeous papers, design, color, and emotion. It felt good to do this, and it's something I like to do to clear my mind of beads and metal and adornments!

Wishing you all a great new week!
