SUGAR COOKIES

I guess we have holidays on the brain here already, but my daughter gave me the name for this bracelet, and I thought it was perfect. This blue is my fav color when decorating Christmas sugar cookies, and the combination of that with the soft tan is kinda sorta like a cookie, especially with the polka dots...right? Yea, I talked myself right into that!

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

I have had Kelly Rae Roberts book "Taking Flight" for about 2 years now. I love it, and look at it all the time. I pick it up, put it down, over and over, for days, then I forget about it, or subconciously put it out of my mind. I don't like to answer the questions in it, I don't like to write....never will. I like to express in the form of art. Tonight the planets aligned and I just did it., but of course had to put my own twist on it. I had to do the butterfly wings just because I love the pattern and the color. I had to add the vintage rhinestones for her necklace. And to tell you the truth, I was probably prompted to do this entire project because I just kept thinking of adding those gorgeous vintage buttons.
So I really enjoyed this and I love the transparent effect that Kelly shows in her book, I love the layering and knowing there is vintage paper underneath. Of course I am my own worst critic, and wasn't super happy with the face.....it is what it is. I also think I went to far with the markings in the background....I have a tendency of never knowing when to stop. The most important thing is that I have sparked something in me and I have many ideas for more. I hope I do them. I have been very depressed, and am trying to work through it. I am hoping this helps. This did make me happy.
I would love to know what you think. Thank you for visiting and all your comments I look forward to.

LIGHT SOUL

I have been busy working on these earrings, as well as some other items. Quietly working, not too talky of late, lots on my mind. I just listed these in the shop if anyone is interested.
As promised, I will be posting a giveaway later in the week in celebration of reaching 500 followers, and the countless kind comments left on my blog, and the many many new friends made!
Wishing everyone a great week!

DERYN'S INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Last week the multitalented and sweet Deryn of Something Sublime proposed on her blog an inspiration challenge.....to create a piece of jewelry based on an incredibly gorgeous photo she posted. To see the photo, please visit Deryn's post here. This is what I came up with. This one was a personal challenge for me. I adore vintage but sometimes have trouble with it, earthy is easier for me, but when I saw the photo I knew what I was going to do, well, just about. I am not one to do multi layered strands either, but I pushed myself with this one, and I am so happy I did. Anyway, go take a looky, and see what you think. BTW, Deryn is offering a really sweet giveaway with this too, so if you are interested, you still have a day left....so chop chop!
In this necklace I used part of an incredible Victorian brass pin that I was hoarding and I deconstructed it, that beauty in the center with the rhinestones, vintage rosary chain, a gorgeous chandelier drop, heishi pearl, rhinestone rondelles, vintage rose flower beads, brass chain, and faceted garnet strands. The next step in my personal challenge would be to wear this, and I am getting closer!

Thanks for visiting and I always love your comments!

FLEA AND NEW LISTINGS

Bri and I had time to do some junkin today. It was a nice relaxed Sunday, and we had fun browsing so many tiny treasures! Of course I didn't find what I was looking for, but I found STUFF I had to have! I could spend every day doing this.
I just adore this teeny cut glass dish, the color is lush. It is only about 3" long and 1 & 1/2" high!

Sooooo cool bags.....

Perfect pretty little locks....be looking for these in my next round of jewelry!

Rhinestones and pretty faceted stones

A lovely tin tray to put my perfume bottles on, I have been searching for ages, and love this one.

Hope everyone's weekend was as relaxing as mine, and I hope the same for the coming week!

JUST GLUE

For the first time in months I was moved to create a journal spread. No foo foo involved, paints, inks, and various other sticky stuff, just glue and paper and the need to follow my emotion quickly. I am struggling this year like never before with heavy thoughts and I am feeling restless. I feel a need to tell my story but not so literally so as everyone has to listen. This quick (ish) gluing is helping me tell my story rather quietly, but effectively enough to help me feel a bit better. I liked the way this turned out, and am still restraining to pull out a marker or something!
On another note, I am 9 followers away from 500, and when I reach that number I will have a generous giveaway! Everyone has been so generous to me.
Thanks for taking a peek, and happy rest of the week! Hugs to all!

A Walk In The Woods

Taking in all the nature around me, enjoying it, and using that in my creativity. I made a copper and mixed bead double wrap bracelet and a pair of earrings that both remind me of the forest.
Both are listed in my esty shop here. Thanks for visiting and all your support and comments.

VISIONARY

I had the most fun making these Visionary earrings.....pounding metal is always my fallback for stress release and serendipity! You are sure to see more of these to come.

The Plush earrings were listed in my shop for a short while, and then I loaned them out to a shop that didn't do anything with them...(long boring story), so now I am reintroducing them again.

Thanks for your visits and kind comments.

AUTUMN

Link

I have really been influenced this past week by the drop in temperature, the gray skies, and the changing foilage. I am always drawn to gemstones that are beautifully colored and veined....they remind me of the graceful aging process and the natural journey we are all on.....very unique and beautiful. I didn't patina the silver this time, I think I am liking that bit of shine mixed into my day.
Thanks for taking a peak and your wonderful comments.
