SO GOOD

It's so good to be back! Back in the art world that is! Don't know how long it will last or how long I will be inspired, but I'm just going with it and trying not to over think it right now. I recently signed up for a short online course offered by Lesley Venable on her site...The Art of Altering called Fluid Chalks. I love it. It was very inexpensive and taught me a technique that I love, and one that I have always wondered..."How did they do that?' I am really happy with how these backgrounds turned out, and then I added some images, and am happy with that too. A teeny part of me wants to see some words on these tags, but my word techniques suck, so I am leaving them alone for now until I find the right thing.
Thanks for taking a look and for your kind comments and support!

WORKING ON

Just some peeks of things that I am working on. These pieces may not make it to the shop. I was asked to bring more jewelry to the lovely lady that sells my jewelry in her boutique, so I am getting ready for that. Also, another artist is in the process of purchasing some of my jewelry and having it sent off to another state to sell in her store. I am thrilled by all of it, and have been extremely creative, but I am missing paper art terribly. Yet every time I sit down to do it I feel so overwhelmed to make a mark that I just don't. I have so many supplies, and papers, and mediums that I can't pick one to work with. What is wrong?
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance,, and as always for your help and kindness, and comments.

RECENTLY

Recently, as in this past weekend, I went to the flea market to visit my favorite stand. She is really the only lady I visit, and I don't mind! I didn't get a lot of things , but what I got I am in love with. Briana and I fell in love with this vintage piece of material, and I am thinking I am going to make a kitchen valance with it. Lately I have this thing for red..red in home decor, not really jewelry, my red in jewelry turns more to burgundy, but I have broken out a bit with my Happy bracelet a few posts ago! I fell in love with the old red tin still holding the talc inside, and yes, it still has fragrance, mellow, but nice. I have a few old french perfume containers like this that I love....just because. Same for the buttons, I have tons, but these are just so cute, and the patina can never be duplicated. Love that old pin too! I found a beautiful strand of tiny garnets, and a funky strand of amber that really need to lose the gold! I have loads of ideas brewing already! Hope you enjoyed my simple little tour!
Wishing you all a beautiful Eater , holiday, and weekend! Thank you so much for visiting!

RESPECT

RESPECT-available on etsy here

When I made the resin charm in this necklace a looong time ago, I knew it was meant to be in a piece that was special, and it took me forever to resolve that issue in my mind, but I am pleased with how it turned out. I wanted the necklace to be imbued with the meaning of respect, if that was possible......show strength, yet be gentle, not demanding. Strong, but peaceful.
Hope you all feel that strength in your own worlds, and I hope we all continue to strive toward a respectful world.

Wishing everyone a happy week!

CLASSIC

I have wanted to make these forever. There is something ....I know I have said it a million times....very soothing about just simple silver and not much color, classic lines and shapes. A very comfortable feeling.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, despite the rain....keep creating, and thank you for visiting!

SOME NEW ART

Dignity

Spirit Speaks

It has been a very loooong time since I made some art for me, and finally I let it happen. I needed it, er, I still need it. As much as I love my jewelry, I was formally schooled in Fine Arts, and that is the Bachelor Degree that I have. I left that all go years ago to pursue a family, and somehow lost touch of that. As I started to create jewelry a few years ago, and then blog, I suddenly was opened to a whole new world of art! A place where art is for art sakes, no need for justification, or judgement. I started small with atc's, and they are still my favorite, but unfortunately I have very few(maybe 5!), of all the atc's I created. Now, I would like to make some for me, and to continue to experiment and explore what is in my heart. I hope to keep sharing my art with you from time to time., and I appreciate the fact that you visit, and support me!

SUNSPOT

I guess I had my fill of bright color with the last post because this is what my heart said to do today! Muted, mellow, and warm colors of vintage rosary, vintage crystals (set in new settings), and these wonderful faceted citrine briolettes that I received in a trade with the beautiful Rebecca....thank you again Rebecca! I have been so in love with this soft mellow yellow, old yellow color, it just makes me feel so warm and good inside.
Hope you are all having a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping by, I love your comments and treasure your friendships.

HAPPINESS AND MORE WATER

WATER-on etsy here

I spent the first part of the weekend being very productive and trying to work out of my comfort zone with color, and this bracelet is the result. Although not colors I typically would combine, I liked the way it came out, and it felt and looked happy...thus HAPPINESS emerged!
The water earrings I loved the first time I made them and secretly wished to hoard them, and they sold instantly, so I made 2 more pair, one for me, and one for the shop. I never get tired of that watery blue peaceful color. And I am hoping it helps the migraine that has taken over the 2nd part of the weekend.......talk to you all tomorrow, and thanks for visiting friends!

PATH

Path is my new double wrap bracelet. When I set out to do this I picked up a few types of beads to work with and said..."this is all you have to work with." It worked. I felt it came together nice, I loved the color way, I didn't waste time, and I didn't second guess myself. I found a path.
Hope you are all having a great weekend, and I am always grateful for your visits. Treatment week has me behind in commenting, and I will be catching up this weekend!

FLOAT

Pink is a funny color to me. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It goes in phases, and I think spring, or the lack of it here, is enticing me to try to pull a pretty color that exists in my brain, and make something pretty to wear. Spring is a season I call pretty. When I made these, I immediately felt a very peaceful and light floating feeling. That's what makes the color work for me. Also the combination with the rustic copper to me makes it perfect.
Hope you've enjoyed my crazy mind workings and ramblings! I love hearing from all of you! Thanks so much for visiting!

BREATH

I got my box of goodies today from Bead Trends. It was nice to see these earrings after so long, and especially that I chose to make something with a bit of color, so a bit refreshing too. I just listed these in my shop if you are interested. I have to thank Tatia and the wonderful staff at Bead Trends as always for making me look so good. Also, this issue is jam packed with some other wonderful artists we all know, so go check it out!
It's treatment week, and my mind wants to create, but the body is saying no way, so I'll be browsing around for a few days, thinking of all of you who are always there as my motivators and support. Thank you!

PAPER DOLLS

This is paper doll that I made for a swap coming up. There weren't any limitations, so I used a face that I painted that was part of collage from my Towers and Turrets class. I added a shawl of some dyed cheesecloth I made, and bits of vintage lace. I also used some papers and vintage buttons, and actually had a blast with this. Someone in the group mentioned it looked Frida-esque.....and now I see that, and like it!
That's for popping in and making my day!

SILVER LINING

I fell in love with these silvery large organic looking pearls when I saw them, and knew I had to have them to make these. I also knew I had to have the vintage crystals I paired them up with. I just love the look of the handmade, slightly grungy appearance of the earwires and headpins , the earthiness of the pearls and the bling of the crystal! This is by far now my favorite pair of earrings, and since I just listed them in my shop, I'll have to make myself a pair!

Thanks for visiting and your wonderful friendship and support!
