DAYDREAMER & SERENE

I've worked a lot in the last few days making some new earrings and bracelets. The bracelets are on their way to a local shop ...if there are any left I'll put them in my etsy shop later. These earrings were just added to the shop. I made similar ones a while ago, but this time I made duplicates so I could have a pair, and I changed up the stones a bit. I really like these designs, I never get tired of the daydream message, and the look of those beautiful blossoms. By wearing these you get to keep that lovely reminder of the beauty of the blossom, and carry it with you.
Both are available in my etsy shop here , and here.

Thanks so much for visiting and as always your constant support.

ALCYONE

My daughter, Briana, named this necklace for me. Alcyone is a greek mythological figure that you can read about here. This post is about love above and beyond, as with Alcyone. Yesterday, as Briana went with me to my plasmapharesis treatment, she, out of love, and not being asked, took the time and discomfort to donate platetes while she was with me. Most people don't do it because of the 17 gauge needle, and platelets only last 5 days and then have to be discarded. I don't need platelets, they are for other autoimmune disorders and for cancer patients....I need plasma. But that is not the story. The story is that I am proud I raised a loving and unselfish woman. The necklace will be in my etsy shop tonight.

ALTERED BOOK WITH LENNA

I worked on Lenna's altered book this weekend, and really let myself fall right into the wonderful feeling of doing it! Lenna's theme is nature, and mine is birds. I don't know why it took so long for me to realize that birds are nature, and to incorporate them in her work. Hope she likes it, and can't wait to do more!
Thanks for taking a peek, and always for your kind words.

SNAKESKIN (not really!)

This is my recent listing on etsy. I fell in love with this humble green stone looking bead that Nan of Spirit Rattles sent to me as an extra...and oh...it was an extra special piece to me! I love the look of it, the color, and the smoothness of it. The other beads naturally fell into place, some faceted yellow jade and irid green pearls I found in Maine on my travels, and I just thought LeAnn's , Summers Studio bronze charm sealed the deal.
Hope you are all having a great weekend, and thanks so much for visiting!

IT"S ALL WITHIN

I finally had a chance to get messy and pull out the paints, glue, and papers. I really enjoy making these journal pages, they let me release so much of what is inside of me. Nothing could be closer to representing how I feel than this journal. There is such a" freeness " , a relaxation, that creating art allows me. Nothing else comes close to releasing what is all within me.

MORE BEZELS

This is what I have been working on for the past week, when time and strength allow, which is a tricky combination. I am pretty pleased with them. The top pic are are all images from my towers class, handmade bezels, solder, rivets, and ice resin. The last pic are bezels from Objects and Elements, the center one is one of my collages, the end ones are purchased images.
The question now is how to hang them. Do I use the beautiful sari silk and keep it simple , or do I make handmade chains, and really go all out. I'll have to think about this, but I would appreciate any input or thoughts.
Thanks for all your well wishes, and for visiting and sharing your comments and time.....I appreciate that immensely!

MEDICINE

This is a bookmark made for my swap group, the challenge being a zetti bookmark with a bookish type quote. I had a blast with this one...I hate to give it up! I cannot take credit for that cute little crown of hers...yes, I made it out of vintage paper, but I got the idea from my good friend sweet Marie of Lost Bird Studio. She sent me a great card with a crown like this, and I loved it so much I has to try it. I consider Marie the queen of vintage, and I have learned a lot form her style. She has a great blog you can visit here.
Treatment day is tomorrow, so I have been working hard for days because I know I will need the next few to rest.
Thanks for visiting, I always love your comments!

PROMOTING A GREAT CONCEPT

LOVE MY ART JEWELRY is a new website on the net, promoting handmade jewelry with handmade components. I myself have made a few components, etchings, and metal pendants, but these gals have got it going on. It's best to visit their site and read all about them and what they are doing....here!
Today is a special day in that it is one of the artists birthday ....Mary Jane! Happy birthday Maire! I feel that I don't know Maire as well as some others, but what I do know is that she is a dedicated artist that takes pride in her work and craftsmanship. She is inspired by life and knowledge itself...her work shows that...to me it is powerful and meaningful. Love My Art Jewelry is having a giveaway here to win this gorgeous pair of earrings made by Maire.....go check it out!
You'll also see the other artists who make up that group, all exceptionally talented. I myself have to go back right now and look some more...there is so much to see and learn.

TREE

I finally got an artistic burst of energy....I wasn't feeling very arty, and it was starting to bother me, but then, you know what, out of nowhere....it hits, and I feel better. This is a postcard made for my swap group that had to have a tree in it. I fell in love with this tree in a vintage pruning book I had, and then everything else just fell into place. I couldn't resist adding some antiqued copper wire and czech glass leaves. The other leaves are 3d type sticky things, really liked the effect and the colors.
Hope your weekend is going well, and thanks for visiting, and, thank you for all of your kind thoughts concerning my new treatment. That's the best dose of medicine ever.

SWOON

SWOON...available on etsy here

A new necklace in my etsy shop. My mood felt like using some bling with my blackened copper twisted links, and pairing them up with my etched copper pieces that I cut into some interesting shapes. I was in the mood for metal, and just loved putting all of these dark and twisted pieces together with some vintage, pretty and bling.
I was included in a lovely treasury today...Indian Summer.....just had to share.

I had my first plasmapharesis treatment yesterday. It was pretty boring, but an overall positive experience, since the staff at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville , PA is so excellent, caring, kind and knowledgeable. The only side effect was that I was completely exhausted, and some of that was carried into today. I do not feel any different yet, but time will tell, this is a slow process. Thank you to all who have sent me well wishes and caring messages.

ONE FOR THE SHOP AND ONE FOR ME

This one is for me! I had admired Shannon LeVart's tutorial for Recycled Sari Silk and Stone Bangle for a while, So I finally purchased it, and let me just say, it is the best! It is just my style, loose, free, and really a lot of fun! I just loved making this, and can't wait to make a bunch more. A lot of times I devote a lot of time into the creative process of making my pieces, there is a lot of meaning behind them, but sometimes I just like to put things together because I like the colors and the shapes, and it is solely about that relationship, the design. So that is what you see here, two pieces made just like that, one for me, and one for my shop! Be sure to visit Shannon's blog, MissFickleMedia, you won't be disappointed, amazing is an understatement.
As always, thanks for visiting. I really appreciate all of you.

WINNERS AND NEW WORK

I am so happy! I finally made my own bezels thanks to the wonderful Towers and Turrets class, and the wonderful instructors Deryn Mentock and Sharon Thomlinson. I am having a blast making these now, and this was also my first attempt at Ice Resin, and I am in love with that too! My piece on the right did not dome because I had a teeny opening on the bottom right corner, but it filled nicely and for a first attempt I am happy. There will be more to come! So thank you for letting me share that, and now onto the giveaway.............

Winner of the fabric piece is Patty Szymkowicz of Magpie's Nest, aaaaand, winner of the earrings is Nan of Spirited Earth! If both of you would send me an email with your addresses, I will get your gifts out to you! Thank you to everyone who visits and participates, and I do have to say that the greatest gift is mine, because you all make my days so much more special!

OF FRIENDS

I wanted to share with you some very beautiful gifts from a very beautiful friend...Marie, of Lost Bird Studio. Marie sent me these things, an RAK, just because. Because she cares, and likes to show it this way. That gorgeous little bag she stitched with the soul sisters on it...just so sweet I am in love with it! She sent beautiful antique papers wrapped in ribbon, a bird tag and napkin, awesome buttons and wood beads, and sparkling gems, oh, and a piece of her heart also.
I feel that with all of you there isn't any way that I can ever give back what has been given to me, spiritually that is, but I will certainly always keep trying, and know that I am forever grateful.
Thank you sweet Marie!
